Introduced·1/28/26
Introduced Text

Missouri HB3127 amends insurance laws to require coverage for damages to property or vehicles due to firearm discharge incidents.

Missouri HB3127 amends Chapter 379 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri by adding sections 379.965 and 379.967. These sections establish that insurers must cover damages to property or motor vehicles resulting from firearm discharge incidents. For motor vehicles, if a firearm discharge incident results in a homicide inside the vehicle, the damage is treated as a covered loss. For property, insurers must cover reasonable increases in living expenses incurred due to a firearm discharge incident that causes the property to be temporarily uninhabitable.
