HB3123

Modifies compulsory attendance age for school entry in Missouri.

This bill modifies provisions relating to the age for school entry in Missouri. It sets the compulsory attendance age at five years old, allowing children to enroll in public schools. The bill also prohibits state departments or agencies from dictating a statewide curriculum for private, parochial, parish, home schools, or FPE schools. It allows for exceptions to compulsory attendance for children with mental or behavioral health concerns, provided documentation is provided. The bill emphasizes that private schools may maintain their religious doctrines in their curriculum.
