HB3005

Establishes provisions relating to the reconsideration of materials in a public library or public school library

Introduced·1/15/26

Missouri HB3005 establishes policies for reconsidering materials in public and school libraries.

Missouri HB3005 sets guidelines for public and school libraries to review materials and digital library content. Libraries must establish a public policy outlining the reconsideration process, which includes a review board of local professionals. Materials can be removed or relocated only if reviewed and pending reconsideration. Libraries cannot remove or relocate materials while reconsideration is pending. Digital library databases that do not aggregate periodical content are exempt from this level of curation.
