Allows workers' compensation payments to family members if no dependents exist upon employee death.
This bill modifies Missouri's workers' compensation law to ensure payments are made to family members if the deceased employee has no dependents. It defines "family member" to include adult children, parents, grandparents, siblings, and conservators of dependent children. The bill aims to overturn a previous court decision, Schoemehl v. Treasurer of the State of Missouri, by explicitly rejecting its holding.
