Establishes the "Gun Theft Prevention Act" to mandate security measures for licensed firearm dealers in Missouri.
The "Gun Theft Prevention Act" requires licensed firearm dealers to implement security measures to protect their inventory from theft. Dealers must submit a security plan to the Department of Public Safety, which includes measures such as security systems, video monitoring, and strong locks. The Department reviews and approves these plans, conducts inspections, and can impose penalties for noncompliance. Dealers must also report firearm thefts or losses within 48 hours.
