HB2855

Modifies provisions relating to workers' compensation

Chamber Passed·4/20/26

Missouri HB2855 modifies workers' compensation provisions, including tax rates and surcharges for the Second Injury Fund.

Missouri HB2855 modifies workers' compensation provisions by adjusting the tax rate for the Second Injury Fund. The director of the division of workers' compensation determines the tax rate for the following year based on the fund's balance and premium rates from the top twenty insurance companies. Employers qualified to self-insure must use the net premium equivalent. The surcharge applies to all workers' compensation insurance policies and self-insurance coverages. Insurers and self-insurers must pay the surcharge quarterly.
