Introduced·1/7/26
Introduced Text

Missouri HB2851 establishes a process for law enforcement officers and judges to shield their residential addresses from public access.

Missouri HB2851 enacts provisions to allow current and former law enforcement officers and judges to request shielding of their residential addresses from public access. Eligible persons can file an affidavit with the presiding judge in their county of residence. If the judge approves, a court order will instruct the county recorder to shield the person's documents and restrict access to their residential address and phone number. The shielding lasts for five years and can be renewed. The county recorder must notify the eligible person six months before the shielding ends.
