Missouri HB2793 modifies the statute of limitations for certain debts, including credit card debt.

Missouri HB2793 repeals and replaces sections 516.110, 516.120, and 516.140 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. It sets a ten-year statute of limitations for actions upon any writing for the payment of money or property, except for the collection of debt to recover money owed to a creditor by a debtor. It also establishes a two-year statute of limitations for actions for libel, slander, assault, battery, false imprisonment, and the collection of credit card debt.
