HB2617

Missouri HB2617 prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of cultivated meat.

Missouri HB2617 introduces a prohibition on the manufacture, sale, and distribution of cultivated meat within the state. Cultivated meat is defined as any edible product intended to be consumed as animal muscle, fat, connective tissue, or other meat tissue, produced by the in vitro cultivation or propagation of animal cells outside of a living animal. Violations of this prohibition are classified as misdemeanors, with escalating penalties for subsequent offenses. Each day of violation constitutes a separate offense.
