Introduced Text

Establishes a real property tax credit for disabled veterans in Missouri

The Missouri Disabled Veterans Homestead Tax Credit Act authorizes counties to adopt a real property tax credit for disabled veterans who own a homestead. The credit equals the amount of real property taxes levied on the veteran's qualified residence, excluding the state blind pension fund levy. Participation in the program is optional for both counties and eligible owners. The credit does not reduce assessed valuation or affect the tax rate setting process.
