Introduced Text

Missouri HB2565 modifies guidelines for student participation in athletic contests organized by sex.

Missouri HB2565 modifies guidelines for student participation in athletic contests organized by sex. The bill finds a disparity in athletics participation rates between male and female students and declares it public policy to provide opportunities for females. It prohibits students from competing in contests designated for the opposite biological sex, except for female students in male competitions under certain conditions. It also allows parents or guardians, or students over 18, to seek legal action for denied athletic opportunities.
