Missouri HB2507 amends Chapter 290 by adding a new section that prohibits labor organizations from collecting union dues from new employees until they have worked 250 hours. During the 250-hour grace period, employees must be notified in writing about union dues. Employees can voluntarily pay dues during this period. The law does not apply to employment covered by existing collective bargaining agreements but applies to new agreements and renewals. The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations can create rules for this section.
