Missouri HB2496 mandates disclosure of sales prices in real estate sales.
Missouri HB2496 amends Chapter 442, RSMo, by adding a new section requiring disclosure of the sales price in real estate sales. A person must disclose the sales price when recording an instrument conveying real estate. Failure to disclose the sales price results in a civil penalty of five percent of the sales price. The attorney general or the prosecuting attorney can bring suit to recover the penalty. This provision does not apply to instruments conveying only a mineral interest in real estate.
