Missouri HB2493 mandates firearm owners to report lost or stolen firearms within 72 hours.

Missouri HB2493 requires firearm owners to report lost or stolen firearms within 72 hours to the local law enforcement agency or sheriff's office. Owners must provide the firearm's make, model, and serial number. Failure to report results in fines: $100 for the first violation, $400 for the second, and $500 for subsequent violations. The bill amends Chapter 571, RSMo, by adding section 571.065.
