HB2492

Missouri HB2492 creates a restricted firearms list and outlines penalties for dealers who refuse firearm sales to nonlicensees based on trace.

Missouri HB2492 repeals and replaces Section 571.014 of RSMo, introducing new provisions that penalize dealers who refuse to sell firearms to nonlicensees solely based on a trace request by law enforcement. The bill also establishes a voluntary waiver system, allowing individuals to waive their right to purchase a firearm. Dealers must not sell firearms to individuals with an active waiver. The Missouri Department of Public Safety is tasked with managing the voluntary waivers, including notifying designated contacts and entering waiver information into background check systems.
