The bill modifies provisions relating to birthing centers in Missouri. It mandates that adequate medical records for each patient be maintained. The Department of Health and Senior Services will issue or renew a license if the applicant and program meet the requirements. The bill also defines "birthing center" as any establishment primarily for childbirths that does not provide accommodations for patients to stay more than twenty-three hours.
