Missouri HB2438 renames the state tax commission to the "State Assessment Commission" and modifies its composition and powers. The commission will consist of seven members, chosen from the two major political parties, appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate. Members will serve staggered terms of two, four, and six years. The commission will inspect assessment rolls before tax collection and will have the authority to investigate and hear complaints from taxpayers.
