Provides sovereign immunity for private contractors acting within the scope of a government contract with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

This bill grants sovereign immunity to private contractors and subcontractors performing work under a contract with the Missouri Department of Transportation. This immunity applies to the same extent as a public entity, including any limitations on awards for liability. The immunity commences upon official notice to proceed and continues after the department formally accepts the completed project. The immunity is subject to exceptions for negligent acts or omissions by public employees and dangerous conditions of public property.
