HB2406

Creates new provisions for the adoption of administrative rules

Introduced·1/7/26
Introduced Text

Missouri HB2406 creates new rules for state agencies proposing administrative rules with significant financial impacts.

Missouri HB2406 amends Chapter 536 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri by adding sections 536.180 and 536.185. These new sections require state agencies to notify the joint committee on administrative rules if a proposed rule would result in an expenditure of public funds exceeding $250,000 annually. The committee can hold hearings on such proposed rules. If the general assembly adopts a concurrent resolution approving the rule, the secretary of state must publish the order of rulemaking in the Missouri Register.
