Missouri HB2390 modifies provisions governing physical activity in schools. It mandates that elementary school students participate in moderate physical activity for 150 minutes per week. Middle school students may participate in at least 225 minutes of physical activity per week. The bill also requires a minimum of 15 minutes of recess per day and at least two daily brain breaks for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Recess and brain breaks cannot be withheld as a disciplinary measure unless there is a safety risk.
