HB2276

Missouri HB2276 authorizes a property tax exemption for disabled veterans and their surviving spouses.

Missouri HB2276 establishes the "Missouri Disabled Veterans Homestead Exemption," providing property tax relief for veterans with service-connected disabilities and their surviving spouses. The exemption applies to the primary residence of a veteran with a disability, with the amount varying based on the severity of the disability. Surviving spouses of deceased veterans who were service-connected can also qualify for the exemption. The exemption continues if the veteran moves to a veterans' facility, and it can transfer to the surviving spouse's new residence under certain conditions.
