HB2248

Modifies provisions for utility growth projects

Introduced·1/7/26

Missouri HB2248 modifies utility growth project provisions, including discounts for new or expanded facilities.

Missouri HB2248 modifies provisions for utility growth projects by establishing discounts for new or expanded facilities. Eligible customers can receive a 35% discount for five years if their new load is between 300 kilowatts and 10 megawatts with a load factor of at least 45%. For loads over 10 megawatts with a load factor of at least 55%, the discount is determined to cover variable costs. Nonqualifying facilities, such as data centers, are ineligible for these discounts. The bill also outlines the process for applying for these discounts and the conditions under which they can be revoked.
