Missouri HB2230 establishes guidelines for instructional methods in elementary schools, emphasizing the use of traditional materials and cursive.

Missouri HB2230 sets provisions for instructional methods in elementary schools, focusing on the use of traditional materials and cursive handwriting. The bill mandates that elementary schools provide explicit, systematic instruction in cursive handwriting starting from grade two. It also requires schools to adopt a written technology-use policy, including daily screen-time limits and a list of digital platforms used. The bill limits digital instruction for elementary students to 45 minutes per day and ensures that at least 70% of assignments use enhanced decoding pathways.
