Introduced Text

Missouri HB2174 exempts drivers fleeing an unlawful or riotous assemblage from criminal or civil liability for resulting injuries or deaths.

Missouri HB2174 amends Section 537.130 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri to exempt individuals fleeing an unlawful or riotous assemblage in a motor vehicle from criminal or civil liability for any resulting deaths or injuries. This protection applies if the fleeing driver reasonably believes they or any vehicle occupant is in danger and exercised due care. The bill repeals the existing section and replaces it with new language.
