Missouri HB2137 modifies the scope of practice for dental hygienists. It allows volunteer dental hygienists to perform oral screenings, provide oral hygiene instructions, and place fluoride varnish without dentist supervision. Additionally, licensed dental hygienists with at least three years of experience in public health can provide teeth cleaning and sealants to eligible children without supervision. Medicaid will reimburse eligible providers for these services.
