HB2128 allows the director of revenue to issue five-year tabs for vehicles less than six years old

HB2128 establishes a five-year motor vehicle registration option for vehicles with a model year of manufacture that is less than six years old. Beginning January 1, 2027, the director of revenue may issue five-year tabs as evidence of the payment of registration fees and the current registration of a vehicle in lieu of the set of plates to motor vehicle owners electing a five-year registration. The bill also outlines the requirements for license plates, including their display, design, and reflective qualities.
