HB2124

Missouri HB2124 modifies initiative and referendum petition requirements, including circulator qualifications, petition form, and signature.

Missouri HB2124 revises the process for initiative and referendum petitions. It mandates that petition text be in a 12-point Times New Roman font with specified margins. Circulators must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and either Missouri residents or present in the state for 30 days. They must swear to an affidavit before a notary public and cannot be paid based on signatures collected. The bill outlines penalties for petition fraud, including knowingly submitting false signatures or signing more than once.
