HB1967

Missouri HB1967 mandates that bill sponsors remain present during the entire public hearing on their bills.

Missouri HB1967 amends Chapter 21 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri by adding a new section, 21.489. This section requires the sponsor of a bill to stay present in the hearing room for the entire duration of the public hearing on their bill. The bill defines "health or personal needs" to include essential activities for maintaining physical well-being but excludes breaks for meals or meetings. A sponsor may leave the hearing room to attend to health or personal needs but must return within ten minutes.
