Establishes a grant program to provide funds to repair and reset grave markers for deceased veterans

Chamber Passed·4/13/26

Establishes a grant program to repair and reset grave markers for deceased veterans in Missouri cemeteries.

The bill creates a grant program administered by the veterans' commission to provide funds for repairing and resetting grave markers for deceased veterans in Missouri cemeteries damaged by natural causes. Family members of deceased veterans can apply for grants if the veteran was honorably separated or discharged from military service or was in active service in an honorable status at the time of death. The Veterans' Grave Marker Trust Fund, consisting of appropriations and gifts, will be used to award grants on a first-come, first-served basis.
