Missouri HB1854 prohibits gender transition procedures for minors.
Missouri HB1854, known as the "Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act," prohibits health care providers from prescribing or administering cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs to individuals under eighteen years of age for gender transition purposes. It also bans gender transition surgeries for minors. Violations are considered unprofessional conduct, leading to license revocation. The bill allows legal action against providers for harm caused by these procedures, with a presumption of harm if infertility results.
