HB1838

Modifies provisions relating to motor vehicle safety inspections

Chamber Passed·2/17/26

Modifies motor vehicle safety inspection requirements in Missouri.

The bill modifies provisions relating to motor vehicle safety inspections in Missouri. It exempts certain vehicles from biennial inspections, including those with less than 150,000 miles for ten years after their model year, historic vehicles, and farm vehicles traveling less than 100 miles per year. It also allows vehicles to be operated to and from inspection stations without a current state registration license. The bill repeals and replaces section 307.350, RSMo, with new inspection rules, including a requirement for even-numbered model year vehicles to be inspected in even-numbered years.
