HB1834

Modifies the offense of enticement of a child to include internet communication and increases penalties.

The bill modifies the offense of enticement of a child by expanding the definition to include communication via the internet or any electronic communication. It also specifies that it is not a defense if the child was a peace officer masquerading as a minor. The offense is now classified as a felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of thirty years, and no eligibility for parole, probation, conditional release, or suspended imposition or execution of sentence for five years.
