Missouri HB1833 introduces an option for eligible employees to opt out of the Missouri consolidated health care plan and receive an annual stipend instead. Employees can make this election within 31 days of their hire date or before the beginning of the succeeding calendar year. The stipend is equal to 50% of the state's contribution toward the employee's health care coverage. If the employee is not covered by a separate health insurance plan by the beginning of the succeeding calendar year, they must enroll in the health care plan.
