Introduced Text

Missouri HB1773 modifies provisions for mailed notice to sewer district customers with unpaid charges.

Missouri HB1773 modifies provisions governing mailed notice to sewer district customers with unpaid charges. The bill allows public sewer districts to disconnect customers' sewer lines if charges remain unpaid for over three months, after sending a notice by first-class mail. It also establishes a lien on the customer's property for unpaid charges, with priority above all other liens except for state and county taxes. The bill repeals and replaces sections 249.255 and 249.645 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri.
