It allows for the suspension or redirection of subsidy payments if the child is adjudicated dependent and made a ward of the court or removed from the custody of the parent by a court. Beginning January 1, 2027, grants will be available for legal expenses incurred by prospective adoptive parents, including attorney's fees and filing fees, with a separate grant for guardian ad litem fees. The subsidy amount will not exceed the expenses of foster care and medical care for foster children.
