Modifies subsidies for adopted children, including suspension of payments and grants for legal expenses.

This bill modifies provisions relating to subsidies for adopted children in Missouri. It allows for the suspension or redirection of subsidy payments if the child is adjudicated dependent and made a ward of the court or removed from the custody of the parent by a court. Beginning January 1, 2027, grants will be available for legal expenses incurred by prospective adoptive parents, including attorney's fees and filing fees, with a separate grant for guardian ad litem fees. The subsidy amount will not exceed the expenses of foster care and medical care for foster children.
