Mississippi SB2873 establishes administrative forfeiture procedures for cigarettes and ENDS products.
Mississippi SB2873 creates new sections in the Mississippi Code of 1972 to establish administrative forfeiture procedures for cigarettes and ENDS products. If cigarettes or ENDS products valued up to $20,000 are seized, they may be forfeited through administrative procedures. The seizing agency must notify the owner of the seizure and provide instructions for contesting the forfeiture. If no contest is filed within 30 days, the property is forfeited to the seizing agency. The cost of seizure, forfeiture, and destruction is borne by the person from whom the products are confiscated.
