Mississippi SB2811 prohibits shooting or discharging firearms in certain locations, including public roads, near schools, churches, and dwelling.

Mississippi SB2811 makes it unlawful to shoot or discharge firearms across or in any public road, within 500 feet of any school or church, within 500 feet of any dwelling house, or in any state, county, or municipal park where firearms are prohibited. Exceptions are made for residents or authorized guests of a dwelling house if they shoot or discharge a firearm within 500 feet of their residence with the consent of all residents and no other dwellings are within 500 feet. The bill also exempts gun repair shops, firearm stores, and indoor shooting ranges that comply with all applicable laws.
