BEAM; amend definitions for "applicant" and "eligible project" and add "retail end user."

Failed·3/3/26

Mississippi SB2783 amends definitions for "applicant" and "eligible project" to distinguish between retail end users and other services.

Mississippi SB2783 amends the definitions for "applicant" and "eligible project" in the Mississippi Code. For projects funding services to retail end users, "applicant" refers to an eligible broadband service provider authorized to do business in the state and capable of providing broadband services to retail end users. For projects other than those funding services to retail end users, "applicant" means any entity eligible for the grant with the technical, financial, and managerial resources to build and operate a broadband network.
