Mississippi SB2774 amends Section 47-5-139 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to allow the Mississippi Department of Corrections to review and set the terms of conditional release for inmates who have received a life sentence for capital murder and who have reached the age of sixty-five or older and have served at least fifteen years of their sentence. The bill also outlines conditions under which an inmate is ineligible for earned time allowance, including being sentenced to life imprisonment, being convicted as a habitual offender, having forfeited earned time, being convicted of a sex crime.
