Mississippi SB2624 amends the Mississippi Code to allow food service establishments to use a clear legend for seafood labeling instead of itemizing each seafood product on the menu. The bill requires that the legend be presented in plain language and in a font size and format that is the same size as the product being sold. The legislation also mandates that seafood or crawfish products must be labeled as "domestic" or "imported" based on their country of origin. Violations of these labeling requirements can result in fines and other penalties. The act is set to take effect from July 1, 2026.
