Requires all radiation oncology facilities in Mississippi to be accredited by January 1, 2027.
Mississippi SB2535 mandates that all radiation oncology facilities in the state must be accredited by the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and certified by the State Department of Health. This applies to radiation oncology outpatient units within hospitals, independent, freestanding centers, and comprehensive centers offering radiation oncology with chemotherapy. Facilities not in compliance will not be eligible for Medicaid reimbursement. The act takes effect on January 1, 2027.
