Mississippi SB2533 ensures parental and individual rights over immunization information in the Mississippi Immunization Information eXchange (MIIX).

Mississippi SB2533, known as the Mississippi Immunization Privacy and Parental Rights Act, mandates that no individual's immunization information be stored in MIIX without their consent. Parents can opt their minor children out of MIIX at any time, and adults can opt themselves out. Providers must notify individuals of their opt-out rights before entering their information into MIIX. The Mississippi State Department of Health must create a standard disclosure form and remove records from MIIX within 30 days of an opt-out request.
