Mississippi Sick and Safe Leave Act establishes earned paid sick leave for employees.

The Mississippi Sick and Safe Leave Act mandates that employers provide earned paid sick time to employees. Employees accrue one hour of paid sick time for every thirty hours worked, with a maximum of forty hours per year unless the employer allows more. Employers must inform employees of their rights to earned paid sick time and the terms of its use. Employees can use earned paid sick time for their own or a family member's medical needs, including mental or physical illness, injury, health condition, or preventive care.
