Mississippi SB2372 amends Section 25-60-5 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to allow a $1 filing fee for each document filed as a public record. Half of this fee is to be deposited into the general fund of the county or municipality, while the other half is to be remitted to the State Treasurer for deposit into the Local Government Records Management Fund. This fund will support the Department of Archives and History services to counties and municipalities related to records management, historic preservation, and museum services.
