Mississippi SB2362 amends Section 75-24-15 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to revise private cause of action under consumer protection laws. It removes the requirement for plaintiffs to first resolve disputes through an informal dispute settlement program. Instead, plaintiffs may directly file a civil action. The bill also mandates that plaintiffs notify the Attorney General within fourteen days of filing an action. The Attorney General can join the suit for any purpose. The act takes effect from July 1, 2026.
