The Artificial Intelligence Fraud and Accountability Act defines "artificial intelligence fraud" as using AI systems to deceive or obtain assets. It allows injured parties to sue in the appropriate court and seek compensatory damages, punitive damages, and attorney's fees. Developers or users of AI for fraud can be held jointly and severally liable. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
