Mississippi SB2330 prohibits counties and municipalities from using automated recording equipment to enforce motor vehicle liability insurance.

Mississippi SB2330 amends Section 17-25-19 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to prohibit the governing authority of any county or municipality from enacting or enforcing ordinances that authorize the use of automated recording equipment or systems to enforce compliance with or to impose or collect any fine, fee, or penalty for violation of any requirement to possess or maintain motor vehicle liability insurance. The bill mandates the removal of such equipment or systems before October 1, 2025. The act is set to take effect from July 1, 2026.
