The Wastewater Treatment System Infrastructure Sustainability Act establishes a statewide framework for accountability for community public wastewater systems in Mississippi. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality will create a letter grade schedule based on criteria such as compliance with permits, water quality standards, financial sustainability, and customer satisfaction. The department will publish an annual report with scores and grades for each system. Community public wastewater systems must notify customers of their grade within 30 days of publication.
