Mississippi SB2284 amends the state code to allow independent or partial owners of cows, goats, or sheep to use their milk for personal consumption or to sell it directly to consumers, provided it is not for institutional use. The sale must occur on the premises where the milk is produced, involve no more than nine producing animals, and meet specific sanitary conditions. The sale must also not be advertised, and the seller must inform consumers of the risks of consuming unprocessed dairy products.
