Mississippi SB2222 amends the state code to allow individuals convicted of certain felonies to petition for expunction of their conviction from public records after 20 years of good behavior. Exceptions include certain violent crimes, arson, trafficking in controlled substances, DUI offenses, felon in possession of a firearm, failure to register as a sex offender, voyeurism, witness intimidation, and abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable person. A person is eligible for only one felony expunction.
